HI. Thanks for visiting my
website.
Here I am, atop a frame during a raising
|

A finished frame at the end of the day Unlike today's conventional
framing, Timber Framing is elegant, with craftsmanship that you want
to see and show off, not to be hidden inside the walls. Even after enclosing you can still see all
the frame inside, for a warm comfortable
living envirment. |
 Green
Building. Timber framing is a natural
fit for building green, we use sustainable wood, have very little waste
and craft with hand tools, then combine this with straw bale, passive
& active solar, radiant heat, and rain water collection, and we can provide
a very high quality and natural product that will last and be sustainable
for years to come.

Here are pictures showing typical community Hand raising. where
we assemble the beams into bent structures and raise by hand.
|
My crew and I are cutting a frame at my "shop". Our tools
and techniques hail from the early 1800's and we still hand craft each frame
this way.
|
These pictures show a typical crane raising with just my crew. We still
build bents, but a crane puts them and all the other beams into
place. This works very well but isn't nearly as fun.

Barn Raisings are about Community, bringing
friends, neighbors and family together to build sustainably, help one another,
& do all with a wonderful sense of accomplishment.
We at the Barn Raisers can provide this kind of product,
both the building and the event, Just like we did in the 3 pictures above
at Yale University
